
Week 2: Why BAINT Is Being Built to Support Teachers Not Replace Them
Intro In Week 1, we shared how early feedback from readers helped us rethink parts of the BAINT demo. This week, we’ve been thinking about a bigger question: What role should AI actually play in education? The Fear Around AI in Classrooms Whenever AI enters education, the first fear people mention is replacement. Will AI replace teachers? But history shows that educational tools rarely replace educators. Instead, they expand what teachers can do. Learning Tools Have Always Evolved Education has evolved through tools: Abacus Slide Rule Chalkboards Projectors Computers Each tool helped teachers teach better. AI is simply the next step. Where BAINT Fits BAINT is being designed as an AI classroom assistant. The goal is not to replace teachers, but to help students: Ask questions freely Clarify confusing concepts Learn at their own pace While teachers remain the center of the learning experience.
