Nothing happens. They press it again. Still nothing. The customer is sitting there listening to silence while your agent frantically clicks a button that used to work fine yesterday. Or maybe it's your IVR. Callers dial in, hear "Press 1 for sales," and press 1. Your Call Menu doesn't register the digit. They press it again. And again. Then they hang up.
