Versatility Over Specialization

The Popular Quote "Jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one". For a long time, I heard only the first half of that quote—and like many developers, I thought it was a warning. Stay in your lane. Specialize. Don’t spread yourself too thin. But the full quote tells a completely different story. It validates the journey of those of us who refuse to be boxed in. I started as a software engineer, focused on building applications and solving problems through code. But curiosity kept pulling me beyond the boundaries of development—into networking, where I began to understand how systems truly communicate, and then into cybersecurity, where I learned how those same systems are tested, attacked, and defended.
