
The Sunday Dread Is Telling You Something Important
You know the feeling. It's Sunday afternoon. You should be relaxed. Maybe you're watching something on Netflix, or pretending to read a book, or staring at your phone without really seeing it. And then it hits — that low-grade tension in your chest. The mental rehearsal of Monday's standup. The growing awareness that the week hasn't started yet and you're already tired. Most people call this the Sunday Scaries and treat it like a personality quirk. Scroll past it, pour another drink, go to bed early. Same thing next week. But here's what I've come to believe: the Sunday dread is one of the most honest signals your nervous system ever sends you. And we've gotten really good at muffling it.
