You're paying $39/month for Manus AI. You think you're getting $39 worth of autonomous AI work. You're not. After tracking every single task I ran over 30 days, I discovered that nearly three-quarters of my credit consumption was pure waste — and the culprit isn't what you'd expect. This isn't a rant. This is a data analysis. The Experiment I logged 217 tasks over 30 consecutive days on the Manus Pro plan ($39.99/month, 3,900 credits). For each task, I recorded: Task type (code edit, research, file operation, web scraping, content generation, multi-step project) Model used (Standard vs Max, as shown in the task metadata) Credits consumed Whether Max mode was actually necessary (judged by task complexity and output quality) The results were uncomfortable.
