
System Building in Human Language: The Era of the AI Business OS
Every business runs on three things: software, documentation, and decisions. The software does work. The documentation explains how the work should be done -- strategy decks, process docs, onboarding guides, SOPs, runbooks. The decisions live in policies, values, and tradeoff preferences that shape how people act. Every department produces all three. Nobody reads them. This is the real operating model of most businesses: humans are the integration layer. A founder reads the strategy doc, interprets it, opens the CRM, makes a decision, updates a spreadsheet, writes a Slack message, follows up next Tuesday. The documentation exists. The software exists. The human connects them. GenAI changes what is possible here. Not by making the software smarter or the documentation shorter. By making human language itself the medium for building business systems. The shift already happened Programming has always been about raising the abstraction layer. Assembly gave way to C.
