MQTT Broker: A Solid, Safe MQTT Broker for IoT—My Take After Using It (AppSumo Review) From Making $2,800/mo as an IoT Guy to $8,200/mo with Automated Setups in Half a Year Back in the middle of 2025, I was pulling in about $2,800 each month as a freelance IoT developer here in Rajshahi. I was putting together simple device setups for small clients, but the messaging was a pain. I was using those free MQTT brokers, you know, like Mosquitto or HiveMQ, but they'd crash when things got busy. They weren't very safe, and scaling them up for real Industry 4.0 stuff? Forget about it. Clients were always saying they lost data when we were testing, I was missing deadlines, and I even lost a couple of deals because things were unstable. To top it off, I couldn't charge the good rates because I didn't have the tools the big guys use.
