Whisper Type is a lightweight open-source dictation tool that runs OpenAI’s Whisper model locally on an NVIDIA GPU, turning speech into text instantly in any app. Built as a single Python file, it avoids cloud APIs, subscriptions, and privacy concerns while delivering near real-time transcription using faster-whisper and GPU acceleration.
