As a developer who's spent time building web tools, I wanted to share some practical SEO insights I've picked up — and announce a free resource I built. The Problem Most small businesses and indie developers launch websites without thinking about SEO. They wonder why nobody finds them on Google. The truth is, there are usually easy wins hiding in plain sight. Common Issues I See After auditing dozens of websites, here are the most frequent problems: 1. Missing or Duplicate Meta Tags Every page needs a unique <title> and <meta name="description"> . Without them, Google makes up its own (usually badly). 2. Slow Page Speed Core Web Vitals matter. If your LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) is over 2.5 seconds, you're losing rankings. Common fixes: Compress images (WebP format) Lazy load below-the-fold content Minimize render-blocking CSS/JS 3.
