If you’ve spent any time working in cloud environments, you’ve likely heard the phrase: “Let’s just move it to S3.” And to be fair, Amazon S3 is one of the most powerful and widely adopted services in the cloud. It offers virtually unlimited scale, extremely high durability, and a cost model that makes storing massive amounts of data both practical and predictable. But this is also where things tend to go wrong. As a Technical Account Manager, I’ve seen this pattern repeat itself across different customers and industries.
