
Developer Experience is More Than Just Productivity Metrics
In the frantic world of tech, we’ve become obsessed with the "bottom line." Engineering leaders are under constant pressure to measure output, leading to an over-reliance on productivity frameworks that often miss the mark. While frameworks like SPACE, getDX, and DORA provide valuable insights, they often focus strictly on the company's bottom line while ignoring the practitioner's reality. If we want to foster true innovation, we have to realize that Developer Experience (DevEx) is the journey , while Developer Productivity is simply the destination . The "Disaster" Reality Check We’ve all had that experience using a tool or service that was a disaster.
