DevConnect Africa: Solving the Collaboration Gap for African Developers
This is a submission for the DEV Weekend Challenge: Community The Community African developers often work in isolation. While WhatsApp and Telegram groups exist, they become noisy quickly. Asking for help feels uncomfortable. Finding someone to learn with or mentor you requires scrolling through hundreds of unstructured messages. There is no simple way to say: "I need help with React hooks" or "I want to mentor someone learning Python." The signal gets lost in the noise. DevConnect Africa addresses this gap. It provides a structured space where developers can post specific skill requests and connect directly with people who can help. What I Built DevConnect Africa is a minimal collaboration board. Developers can: Post skill requests with a title, description, tech stack, and contact information Browse all requests in a card-based layout Filter by tech stack, request type (learning, mentoring, collaboration), and skill level Express interest in a request to reveal contact information Th
