For a long time, choosing a model was very easy. If you needed the best performance, you used the flagship model. If you needed something simpler, you used a mid-level model. There was always a big difference between them. After the release of Claude Opus 4.6 and Claude Sonnet 4.6, that difference feels much smaller. Both models are strong and dependable.
