Step 1: Define Your Project Type Simple marketing site or small app → lightweight library is fine. Admin dashboard or SaaS tool → need structured components. Enterprise app with complex data → need advanced grids, charts, and scalable architecture. Step 2: Evaluate These Factors Customization – Can you match your design system easily? Component coverage – Beyond buttons and modals, does it support real-world complexity? Performance – Does it support tree shaking and lazy loading? Maintenance – Active updates? Long-term support? Accessibility – Keyboard navigation and ARIA compliance? Step 3: Consider the Main Options MUI – Strong default choice, widely adopted. Chakra UI – Great DX and accessibility.
