As AI systems become increasingly intertwined with our daily lives, a pressing question arises: What is the role of 'cultural sensitivity' in shaping the moral compass of AI decision-making algorithms, particularly when these algorithms are trained on culturally diverse datasets from diverse societies with disparate moral values and ethics? For instance, consider an AI-powered medical system designed to assist in diagnosing illnesses. If the training dataset predominantly includes examples from Western medicine, will the AI be less effective or biased against non-Western patients with different cultural understandings of illness and treatment?
