In February 2026, Anthropic released a new capability for Claude Code called Claude Code Security - a new tool that thinks like a developer to find tricky logic errors in your code, ranking how risky they are and suggesting fixes you can review. The news sent a shockwave through cybersecurity stocks, causing JFrog to crash by nearly 25% while others like CrowdStrike, Okta, and Cloudflare all saw their share prices tumble by around 8% or 9%. The announcement raised a question: can AI tools replace the current SaaS or cybersecurity products, or can AI agents replace developers or engineering teams? Anthropic’s Claude Code Security announcement highlights a move toward "agentic reasoning" - the ability for AI to understand complex data flows and logic flaws rather than just matching known patterns.
